String Junction Effects for Forward and Central Baryon Production in Hadron-nucleus Collisions

چکیده

The process of baryon number transfer due to string junction propagation in rapidity space is considered. It leads to a significant effect in the net baryon production in pA collisions at mid-rapidities and an even more significant effect in the forward hemisphere for the cases of πA interactions. The results of numerical calculations in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model are in reasonable agreement with the data. Special consideration is given to Λ produced in πA collisions extracted from data of WA89 Collaboration. 0 Baryon stopping in high energy collisions in the DPMJET – III model

A recently discovered feature of hadron production in nuclear collisions is the large stopping of the participating nucleons in hadron–nucleus and nucleus– nucleus collisions. Experimental data demonstrating this effect have been presented in [1,2]. Multistring fragmentation models like the Dual Parton Model (DPM) or similar models did originally not show this enhanced stopping in nuclear colli...

Baryon stopping in high energy collisions and the extrapolation of hadron production models to Cosmic Ray energies

A new striking feature of hadron production in nuclear collisions is the large stopping of the participating nucleons in hadron–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions. This enhanced baryon stopping can be understood introducing new diquark breaking mechanisms in multistring models of hadron production. Here we show, that similar diquark breaking mechanisms occur at high energy even in hadron–ha...

Absence of anomalous stopping in heavy ion collisions

We show that the baryon stopping observed in heavy ion collisions both at CERN-SPS and at RHIC can be derived from the one observed in protonproton collisions. No increase in the size of the baryon junction component is required between small size (pp) and large size (AA) systems. Identified Particle Production at High Transverse Momentum in Nucleus-nucleus Collisions at Rhic

Experimental results for identified hadron spectra in AA collisions at RHIC are reviewed. Jet suppression in central AuAu collisions at 200 GeV is seen in leading meson and baryon spectra at high pt. Enhanced baryon production at intermediate pT (2 < pt < 5 GeV/c) is related to quark content but not its mass. In d+Au collisions Cronin enhancement is observed with larger magnitude for baryons th...
